So this is the fleshy poem I quickly put together so as to strip it for Dana’s RWP prompt this week- think crows on roadkill. No? Okay. Think deciduous tree at the end of autumn instead.
Think about someone taking all the blanks I left at RWP and what someone might fill them with in to come up with – what?, is exactly the question. Answers posted sometime next week!

Improbable thoughts
Ramble. I’m walking
the dog:
a delinquent
and untrained mutt. A
spoiled thoroughbred
jumping on
my clean
pants. His paws muddy.
A floppy soppy heart.
He takes
me where I
wouldn’t go. Smells
then jumps at leaves
Dirt clods.
Fallen cones
My tongue wags. No
tail to sweep joy.
Eating rank
delicacies.
A lead snaps. Release.
Fragrant grass punches
a weary mind glints
replacing glowers.
Good boy!

Hello Deb,
Thank you for the wonderful “skeleton” of a poem. I had a great time filling in the words you took out.
I enjoyed “Improbable Thoughts” immensely. It must be fun to see what folks did with your work! I wish I had posted a skeleton of my own.
