Hi folks,

Submissions are now open for the next issue at qarrtsiluni, with “Journaling the Apocalypse” as the new theme. We are editing the issue ourselves this time, in order to reacquaint ourselves with the process and be in a better position to advise future guest editors. Please visit the site to read our theme description and guidelines:

As always, feel free to forward this message to friends, colleagues, or appropriate lists, or to copy all or part of the call for submissions into blogs or message boards. The deadline for submissions is a month from now, October 6. (We started a week late due to internet connection difficulties, which we hope are solved now.)

Meanwhile, the Transformation issue continues for another three and a half weeks. So far it has featured some outstanding prose, poetry, photos, art, short films, and even a musical composition, with a number of intriguing submissions still on the way, not to mention a podcast at the end of the month. (Yes, our issues are lengthening!) We expect to start posting pieces for “Journaling the Apocalypse” on October 1, and may run through December if we get enough material.

By the way, if you’re a new contributor, please don’t let the fact of your recent or upcoming publication deter you from submitting again to the upcoming issue. We like to encourage all our contributors to become regulars, adding to an overall sense of continuity and community. Brand new contributors, as well as those who have tried us in the past without success, are all just as welcome, however – nobody gets preferential treatment.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Beth and Dave
