are these recent shots? i’m so jealous. i said today: i am so tired of brown grass.

but telling you that just reminded me of what my grandmother used to say about march/april snowstorms: that they help the green grass grow. if that’s true, i say, bring it on. let’s get this spring show on the road!

are these really in your garden right now? can i come over? i love the peony shoots! if i were georgia o’keefe, those are what i would fixate on!

in fact, i just may. fixate on them. paint them, write about them…

It’s all in my yard. These tight shots are impressive. In their tiny states they are hardly noticeable in the leaf litter and blah yardness.

The daphne is on the side deck on the west side, front door side of my house. The windflowers and peony are in the very front on the southeast side where they get good sun in winter and afternoon sun when the maple tree is leafed out.

I also have crocuses and some tiny bulbs I can never remember the name of that are in bloom. The daffodils are just starting, the hellebore have been budding a while. The camellia and Japanese quince is budding, too.

Everything is in a mixed up schedule this year, it seems.

I gardened last Friday and hid from snow/hail on Sunday.
