haiku for this day

Concertina wire,
composed. A portal
drips ribbons.

* * *
Haiku is extremely difficult to pull off. This one has some imagery I like (gleaned from this morning’s bus ride into my not-work work), but it is not quite right.

Ah, well. Revision in my middle name. Or chosen future-married name. Or something like that.

I’m in a mood.

    these are all splendid words! concertina wire…i don’t even know what it is, but i love its sound!

    sometimes i write haiku to get me in the mood for poetry–a sort of poetic aphrodisiac! seems like it tightens up my language a little!

    I’m with Jill. 100%.

    Why the mood? I think I have it just from all the trying to write and trying to decision-make. Simultaneously. Well, hugs & commiseration.

    I liked the last line especially. And you’re right about haiku being hard to pull off. I have a difficult time being pithy and getting to the bones of what needs to be said. But I think you did that here!

    Dammit, I love “concertina wire”.

    It’s an amazingly beautiful word phrase for such a difficult & nasty thing.

    Thanks for visiting everyone.

    I guess it is especially hard, espeically sometimes, because I have been reading some great stuff at Open Mic. And because I am so new, I think, when will I ever get it!?
